Coffinswell Parish Council Chair

Cllr Alex Parkes, Chair of Coffinswell Parish Council, has regrettably decided to step down from the Parish Council due to ill health. He will be isolating at home while receiving treatment and has decided that he will not be able to carry out the duties of Chair as well as he does when fit. He will focus on getting back to full health and fitness and we all wish him well with his recovery.

In accordance with the due processes, the Vice Chair Cllr Nick Orchard will take on the role of acting Chair until a new Chair is elected at the next meeting of the Parish Council on 21st June 2022.

Teignbridge District Council have been informed and they will start the process of advertising for a new councillor to fill the vacancy left by Alex. Anyone interested in joining the Parish Council should keep an eye out for the notices in due course.

I’m sure that everyone in Coffinswell and Daccombe will join me and my council colleagues in thanking Alex for the tremendous work that he’s done for the parish, and we send him our sincerest best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Cllr Nick Orchard
